I'll continue for a while running everything I do through both, but as of now I haven't found a case where I didn't like PR2 at least slightly if not much better than topaz. I found the retention of range and color much better in pureraw2 as well (compared to TIFF in denoise as I much prefer using via lightroom, which was the main reason I never stuck with DXO). They key was ensuring that lightroom sharpening wasn't being applied to the post-pureraw2 raw file. Interesting, as I'm a longtime topaz user, and I decided to try out pureraw2, and found it better in almost every way. So both are still excellent programs and it may be that DoX Pure Raw may be better on some images over the Topaz. Reviews on the new PureRaw2 are good but the only real difference appears to be control of the sharpness, as the first version has it baked into the processing.

This really surprised me as PureRaw has been my standard for some time. The Topaz clearly pulled out more detail.
Using topaz denoise ai software#
I wish I had the ability to post photos here but when I used a full-resolution Raw file and processed it through the two software programs DxO and Topaz. clear default settings seem to obliterate details ). Nice, got the (Topaz) email yesterday so I'll get that updated today.įrom a quick test on a simple file, a lot still seems to depend on the settings used (e.g. The rendering speed of the new version also is very much improved. There are no artifacts on the edges of areas that need detail (the last version had some issues). Just ran DeNoise 3.6 against my favorite DxO PureRaw software and the Topaz is SO much better (now). Also TIF files produced by Topaz DeNOise look correct. I have not encountered this problem with the TIF files. While working with DNG and TIF files, and converting these to JPGs in Topaz DeNoise, I noticed that the program did not correctly render the DNG and the resulting JPG looked wrong. !! Thanks so very much, greatly appreciated. Uncheck "Preserve Input Settings" on the dialog after clicking "Save image". I have had good luck via chat re: support I can not find any information on the Topaz website, nor anyway to contact Topaz.

When trying to use Topaz DeNoise AI as a stand alone with raw file, I do not have the option to save the file as a DNG.
